This is the Introductory Composition at Purdue (ICaP) Technology Mentoring website. ICaP Mentoring (ENGL 505a & 505b) prepares new ICaP instructors for teaching Purdue students and meeting the ICaP class outcomes. The Technology Mentors focus on helping instructors develop pedagogies that incorporate technology and teach in a connected world.

The current Tech Mentors are Dee McCormick and Kristyn Childres.

They are knowledgeable about:

  • Current trends in digital scholarship and pedagogy;
  • Strategies for implementing new applications, programs, and platforms;
  • Best practices for teaching in technologically-rich environments like computer labs and networked classrooms; and
  • Teaching writing in a highly-connected world.

This site is primarily designed for current ICaP mentees and instructors, but we hope that others might find the resources on this site helpful as well. On this site you’ll find workshop materials, ENGL 505 technology-related outcomes, and ways to contact Dee and Kristyn.

ICaP is Purdue’s composition program, including ENGL 106, 106i, and 108, rhetoric and composition courses, as well as higher-level writing coursework.
